THERE ARE WIRES COMING OFF THE THE STATOR ON A 1983 MARINER 2 CYCLE OUTBOARD.<br />CAN THESE BE USED TO TRICKLE CHARGE A BATTERY?<br />IF SO, HOW WOULD WE DO THIS?????

does the engine have a voltage rectifier to change the ac into dc to charge the battery?

It would be nice to know what engine you have as it may already have rectifier that went bad and someone just disconnected the stator wires.
