what is this hole???

hi chrysler people i have a 1971 chrysler 707-hd 70 hp out board there is no tell tale spout there is a 1.5x3 " hole on back of motor plus exhast snout near prop does water come out both and if so how much and when thank you for any help to this upper hole

Water will just spit out that hole with exhaust...most of the water exits behind the prop...if it's not overheating it's likely ok...just a Thought

ty i got this engine last year have it running now after considerable work my book dosnt tell me what that hole dose thats all and i havent run it more than 2 min yet water not comming out yet lol more work needed nothings cloged new impella water tube is on rightpump body is on right and torqued maybe i need a whole new pump body??

lolthanks again took sill thing apart again the gasket they sold my was not sealing the pump made new one with cork style sheet works great
