Force 15 hp coils

have a basket case and need to know how the coils hook up.<br />the coils are blue,they have one blue lead and one brown,witch one goes to the insulated terminal,the motor is a 1989<br />thanks ,Ron :confused:

Welcome to iboats, Ron.<br />The blue goes direct to ground. The brown goes to the stop and emergency kill switches.<br />not to confuse you, but the other leg of the kill swiches go to ground.<br /><br />Note, this is on the 89 breakerless (or BIM) ignition.<br />Breaker point equipped is different (so double-check).You should have no points

thanks 12 footer,You dont know what the resitance would be?<br />engine misses at low to mid range,ok at full throttle.ron0889
