It's confounded me and the dealer's shop. Starts easy, idles good, runs fine to about 1/2 throttle (maybe 2500RPM), then you open the throttle but it won't run any faster. BUT ONLY INTERMITENTLY! It may happily run at 4500+/- for 10 minutes, then you shut it down & restart, (or maybe w/o a restart-just while it's running) you only get 2500. No stuttering or rough running, just won't run faster. Next time, it may run fine for awhile again, but at some point will go back to 2500.<br /><br />This motor is new to me. When bought I emptied tank, new fuel, changed plugs, checked fuel flow thru the lines (all OK) but had the problem. Shop did same, rebuilt carb, new points & timing adj, compression 110. Pumps water OK, but it's not getting much over lukewarm.<br /><br />What are we missing?
