88 Force 85HP throttle

I have a US Marine control box and for some reason when I am in neutral the engine will not idle and to go into forward or reverse I have to really push fast on the throttle to get it moving or else the motor dies. If I really jam it down had it runs fine. Any ideas? I just can't bring it close to the neutral position or leave it in neutral for more than about 5 seconds before it dies on me. Thanks for any info.

Could be as simple as the idle speed adjustment<br />or more serious idle circuit in your carb.<br /> Dont keep shifting like that or you will ruin<br /> your clutch dogs.
