What are the advantages of using a lock and stow type instead of the transomsaver that goes down to the trailer.I just heard of one called m-y-wedge and they make them for Johnson's? what do you think?

For that size motor, 150hp, I'd recommend a transom saver. Let the trailer frame support the weight of that outboard

Transfer shock to the transom or transfer it to the trailer.

Pretty close to a no-brainer to me.
