Re: FORCE 40 QUESTION

Hello Craig

This is what I have:
40 hp 1992-C &
Serial number: E000001 - E093699 1992-1994
My guess is that they made more than 637 engines in a year, therefore I think yours is a 1992.
I dont think there where any model numbers.

Water and oil out of a hole doesn't sound good. Is it a broken or missing bolt or a new hole??

/Bear

Re: FORCE 40 QUESTION

Craigeb
If the hole was drilled, it is a drain hole.
These holes drain the unsealed portion of the lower unit and exhaust housing. It is normal to have a little exhaust residue drain from these. These drain holes also help gaurd against frost damage.
