timing on 120 force

in the book it says at cranking set timing at 2 degrees retard,since the timing should be set at 30 ,that means at cranking put it at 28 ,right ,or is there a better way .thanks

Sometimes i think they put that stuff in there just to throw us. I read the same thing,Bobmoore...And I think they are refering to the timing linkage adjustment,but don't state that. After getting the timing right while running, shut it off,and adjust the throttle advance linkage at nuetral to retard "at cranking".<br />This is just my guess tho.
