I have an '87 Force 125 that someone stole the lower end off of.
Had a 1 piece shaft, fits 25" transom boat (what they call the long shaft)

Found another lower end, it has a 2-piece shaft. I think it may be for a short shaft motor. Don't have ready access to the boat motor right now.

The short shaft length is :
18 3/4" body of shaft
19 1/4" (including tip)
23 1/2" from top of lower end housing to tip of shaft
1) Anybody know if this is the right length shaft?
2) How much difference is there in the short 2-piece shaft and the long 2-piece shaft
3) Is the length of the 2-piece shaft the only difference in the lower end for a short shaft vs. long shaft motor.
4) Any good ideas for places to buy a used longer shaft if that's all I need?

I have a salvaged 1987 125 25 inch shaft with good gear case, in Florida.
