What would be the point. It will not enhance performance and nobody sees it except when on the trailor.

Why not clean it up and paint it silver?

More to the point... Do not remove the paint intentionally. It is the only corrosion protection the prop has. If you want a shiny prop. Then buy stainless... keep in mind though, some newer stainless props do not have a shiny finish.

If it makes you happy and you realize that you will have to keep it polished why not??? Especially since you plan to replace it in the spring. Many of the antique outboard we have the props have been badly painted(not the way the factory produced them) or the paint is almost gone. Not the best presentation on a newly restored motor. And yes, we do run our restored motors, no sawhorse queens here. After you have the shine you want just be sure to give it a protective coating before you put it in the water. After use just dry it and re-apply. I like Mother's and Formula Five.

Better yet get a new hustler prop they are aluminium painted silver look & perform as good as a SS prop with a two big advantages they dont cost the earth & if you hit something the prop lets go not the gears etc.Turning points site does not list them as being available for older Force engines but they can be fitted.Try this guy email:Propdok@aol.com or www.BoatpropsRus Good luck
