Most likely cracked ignition coils. But first try disconnecting and isolating the two low voltage wires that come down from the armature plate up underneath the flywheel (if they exist). If sparks don't return, the problem has to be up in there. Obtain a manual, a proper flywheel puller or a beefy harmonic balancer puller, and have a look. Points, condensors and ignition coils are all available from NAPA autoparts or from Iboats. Just look for a Johnson/Evinrude mid '50s 25hp parts (say '55). Best part is all those parts are really cheap. For around $60 you can have a brand new ignition system.<br />Tell us your model number just to make sure we're on the same page.
