Wards sea king/ clinton 9hp

I have a 1978 9hp K900 Wards Sea King built by Clinton and want to know how to drop lower gear case end. There is not an opening to get to screw to disconnet the lower and upper shift rod. I can not find a manual any help would be appreciated. I think the K750 for same years would be the same. Thanks

I'm having the same problem... I have found out that the drive shaft5 that rotates the impeller (cooling system) is one piece. It is connected through the water pump housing up to the drive unit. I am about to takle it from that end.
