Hi, Just purchased a second hand boat with Yamaha 115 outboard. Starts fine and runs great for about 20 minutes, then power starts to go up and down w/o changing throttle. Have put a "dry gas" additive in, changed the fuel/water separator filter and fuel line filter, none of which fixed issue. Figure either the fuel has water in it and when we get going it mixes up and creates issue from water...or when the engine gets warmed up there is something electrical going on, but don't know where to start there, any ideas?

Definitely sounds like a fuel restriction. One place to check would be the anti siphon valve at the fuel tank. The fuel pump and carbs would also be suspect.

Hey, did you ever figure out the problem? I am having the same problem with a 225 hp 1995 yamaha. Please tell me you have a solution. I have new fuel pumps, clean fuel, new plugs. It will run great for about 5-10 minutes then all of a sudden, it starts fluctuating the rpms above 4300 RPM and doesn't obtain maximum Rpm.
