New to forum, Hi to all and thanks in advance for any suggestions. Here is my dilema. Boated for around 2 hours and then stopped for gas. Filled tank and tried to restart engine. No luck. Replaced spark plugs, checked kill switch and all ignition wiring, checked fuel filter. Finally put some dry gas into engine and it fired up and ran home. However, the low oil light was on and it has plenty of oil. The gas dock owner thought it might be that the oil gauge float sucked into the flow outlet and caused a vacumn.

Any ideas?

Re: 90 Yamaha

On a Merc you can see oil going to the pump via a clear plastic tube. The manual says to insure that the tube is completely full, no bubbles; if so, need to bleed it and they tell you how. If you really have an oil starvation problem and have a clear tube entering your oil pump or the likes of it, and the tube is blue/black with no bubbles, your engine is getting oil.....if the pump is working.

Mark
