Working on 1997 Yamaha 150HP Salt Water Series II S150TXRV 2 stroke 6 cylinder powerhead.

Coming out of the rectifier/regulator, among other wires, is a red wire with a 30A fuse and then terminates to nothing.

It seems that this wire could go to a secondary battery to charge it. Is this correct? And if so, by charging a second battery this way would the second battery be, in fact, isolated from the primary battery?

No idea. Why don't you www yammie and ask. Could be that, or an accessory drive source.

Mark

yep. its for charging a house battery.most yamaha v6's since 96 or so had it. its called a battery isolator circuit.
if its not used its capped.
as far as isolated it depends on who wired the second battery and any parralel circuits that have been introduced.

Re: Rectifier/Regulator Output

Thanks RB. I think I'll remove the parallel circuit to my second battery, and then connect my second battery to this lead.
