Impellar Relplaced and now it overheats???

I have a 1989 Yamaha Outboard 150 ETLF. I have owned the motor one year and it runs excellently. I decided to replace the impellar as preventative maintainance. Couldn't get the boot off so I took it to a shop. The shop replaced it and now it runs hot if you push hit hard or sometimes just sitting idle. Water is coming out the ports on the back of the motor so I think the impellar is working. What could be the problem and is it a coincidence that it happened after the maintainance? Maybe they broke the gasket covering the impellar or a faulty thermostat...any ideas??? Please Help!!!

check/clean the pressure relief grommet.
most times they stick and with a new pump stick worse.
the most usual complaint is overheat below 1000 RPM. the overheat at WOT may be something different.
and it could be the shop missed a step or did not install the full kit.
but the pump,t-stats and pressure valve I always do as a set.
