Fuel/Oil mix for 1959 50hp Rude

Is the ratio 50:1 or 24:1 for a 1959 50horse V4 Evinrude? Thanks in advance<br /><br />Sean

Sean, Although the official word from OMC was that all motors prior to 1964 should use the 24::1 gas/oil mixture, I was told by an OMC expert that that motor was all roller/needle bearings and would work just fine with a 50::1 gas/oil mixture.
