1985 yamaha 225 info

Hello every one.. I am looking at a 25 ft boat with a 1985 225 on it the boat is in great shape but I dont know much about outboards. the motor looks and runs good but what shoud I be looking at with a motor that old. any help greatly appreciated thanks...

need to drive it on lake, Make sure you can get a good hole shot. I bougth a skeeter with a 220 1984.<br />had to rebuild carbs and put in new fuel pumps. It ran ok on muffs but when you put it in gear it died. It runs great now. Make sure you look at the prop no dents or dings. Don't get in a hurry I have too big of a motor for the boat so look every thing over.
