The choke is controlled by an electric solenoid, but I don't know what activates the solenoid? There is no choke on my controls that I can tell. Is the choke activated automatically when the ignition it switched on? The motor won't start the firwt time without starter fluid..then it starts very easily the rest of the day.

choke is used by pushing startingkey inside when starting engine. choke solenoid works when you have turned power on and when you are starting. So when you start your motor cold turn the startingkey normally to start the engine and at the same time push it towards your controller. If it does not start check that the solenoid is working (take off the eng cover so you can see carb/s and when startkey power on/or starting push the key inside, then the linkage to the carb/s should move.
