Looking at purchasing a used low hour Yammi 225.

From my reading of this forum I have seen issues with the fuel pump when the motor sits a while and it seems quite expensive. Would it be a best practice to always run Ring Guard and Fuel Stabilizer in the tanks? Storage would be for about 6 months.

Thanks

yes its good insurance but not a warrenty. even treated 6 months is about max. before you buy make sure this "low" hour, usually poorly maintained due to "low" hour, motor has been serviced to include the VST filter,waterpump,t-stats,pressure valve grommet and O2 sensor as well as oil tank cleaning, oil tank sensor testing, water trap draining and remote oil tank filter replacement. if you look really really close, maybe with a magnifying glass the service schedule is laid out by hours or calender time. the fuel pumps are throw aways every 3 years anyway. the high pressure pump is over 600 dollars on the counter, the gasket is 28 or so.
