2001 Ox66 Compression #'s??

Rodbolt and Ray: I am checking out a 2001 Ox66 250hp Yamaha next week.<br /><br />Can you please tell me what would be appropriate for compression #'s?<br /><br />Anything else I should look for?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />John

hello<br /> all within 10 psi. look bank to bank. 1-2,4-3,5-6. i also try to remove the o2 sensor draw tube for inspection.

you may also wish to pull the stop switch. otherwise the injectors will inject regardless of plugs in or out. with the stop switch pulled the pump wont run either.

What should be the compression on each cylinder.......factory spec new and minimum with aging and wear & tear?

Ahh, this thread brings back memories. I still own this engine and boat. (25' Parker 2520DV).

All in all, this engine has treated me very well. The only problems have been an occasional dirty O2 sensor, which I've learned to diagnose and fix myself.

This season will be year #6 for this engine. It's comforting knowing that Rodbolt is here to help with any issues/problems.
