I'm trying to help out a friend in Brazil with this problem.His outboard just quit running.He replaced the plugs with new ones ,also replaced the 'big coil' under the flywheel with one that was good,still no spark.I say 'big coil' because that is a literal translation of the term they use,and I am not familiar enough with this motor to give the correct part name.He tells me it has electronic ignition.Any help would be appreciated as this is his only method of transportation other than rowing.

tell him to unplug the white wire from the harness. the wire comes from the stop swtich. follow the wire loom from the stop switch and when he comes to the bullet connector to unplug it and try that. if still no spark test the pulser coil(also known as a trigger coil)wire color is white/red and black should be 440 ohms. if this is a two stroke 15hp.<br /> good luck and keep posting

Hey,thanks so much! The trigger coil was the problem! You just saved a guy 2000 miles away a lot of rowing.
