hello
with the airbox off check that the butterfly's stay closed when cranking. a bad battery connection will allow the starter to pull all the current and not keep the choke solinoid energized when cranking.
good luck and keep posting

Suzuki choke

i have 1989 85 HP 3 cyl w/electric choke. Choke seems to close, but motor will not start unless I push manual lever. Difference in butterfly is unnoticable. Bought a 115 HP 4 cyl, and old owner told me he had smae problem. What gives?

Re: Suzuki choke

You might also want to adjust the pulley distance on the solenoid for the connector. My DT30 choke solenoid was extrememly sluggish when I first got it. I shortened the length and cleaned the linkages and it pulls easily and strong. IF you shorten the lenght a bit (allowing the plunger to sit a little deeper in the solenoid housing) the solenoid should be able to pull that sucker no problem. You might also want to clean the choke butterfly valves and linkages to make sure it moves with no drag. Good luck.
