1990 Suzuki 200 lower unit

The 200 Suzuki has a small fracture at the conical base. It starts at the edge of the prop opening on the lower unit casing and goes back toward the base about 1 1/2 " it is hairline fracture. One guy says I can fix it with out any problem using JB weld. Another mechanic says replacement becuase of the hub location on the suzuki. Any suggestions about which guy is correct.<br />wes

Salt water motor?<br /><br />I heard of a lot of them cracking due to salt build up.<br /><br />You could try getting it welded.
