What looks like 2 stroke oil is leaking somewhere around base of power head. Can't see where. Notice it after I have run the motors. Any idea. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: 2001 200HP HPDI Oil Leak

I have had minor 2 stroke leaks on two outboards and can offer the following possible causes. The oil is not leaking from the base of the powerhead. Its pooling there after leaking down from above. First are nylon wire-ties and small hose clamps at connection points of oiling system hoses. Check around all hose connections that are part of oil injection system looking for any sign of a leak, replace any wire-ties or clamps that look to be a problem. Second are any sensor caps or other fittings in the primary oil resevior that are below oil level.

also make sure the gray hose that runs from the stbd side of the intake is plugged into the airbox drain on the lower port side of the airbox. if it has become unplugged the airbox will drip oil.<br /> good luck and keep posting
