Hi<br />I've got an old 1972 Yamaha 8hp longshaft motor.<br />It runs fine but the gear shift lever on the side of the motor is sloppy!<br /><br />I can engage forward, nuetral and reverse no problem, and the prop turns in the right directions. When I engage reverse, it engages with a healthy click, a definate engagement of that gear. When I go from reverse to neutral, it does the same. But whe I engage forward, there is no click and the shift lever seems to be just floating around, even though the gear is engaged.<br /><br />Any ideas what could cause this?<br /><br />Thanks in advance<br />Steve
