Does anyone know whether a 'pull to open'Yamaha 703 control box control box can be altered to work as 'push to open'? I have read that this is possible with the 704.

yes, it will require buying the correct throttle roller or drum depending on the age of the tech manual you look the part up in. its in almost every rigging guide ever printed and some of the micro-fiche and YDS sites.the 704 just requires flipping the throttle arm.
