I have a 9.9 long shaft (2001) on a sailboat and it is hard to reach the throttle andshifter from the helm. It is not electric start. I would like to add a control box. Do I just order the control box or do I also order cables, etc. and is this a do-it-yourself job?
you will have to have the kit to convert it from tiller to remote. and the correct controls, some of the little motors pulled for throttle and some pushed. they also sell a kit to add steering as well. the shift and throttle cables will have to be ordered seperatly for correct length and cable type to fit the control box and engine ends.
