carb float measurement....

guys i started installing carb rebuild kit today. the kit didnt come with a nything to measure the float level with.. can i use something else? also after installing the valve seat the needle drags a little going in and out..is this normal or should it be looser..thx

i dont know if its the same but i measured it with a regular ruler and from the gasket face to the lip of carb..the top of carb was 3/4 of an inch..

I dont have any manuals for that age 50 with me. the measurement will be done with the carb upside down and most are about .630 from the gasket surface to the top of the float directly accross from the needle valve.<br /> good luck and if I think about it I will look for the float spec today :)
