YAMAHA 225 FLOAT ADJUSTMENT-SPECS

I am reassembling the carbs on a 91 Yamaha 225txrp and want to set the float heights correctly. My Clymer manual states the height to be 16.0 mm(0.63 in.). I need verification on this because the manual was wrong on other things. Also clarification on how to measure would help a great deal.The carbs are marked SR501.

sounds about right<br /> I think the tolerance is plus or minus .020".<br /> good luck and keep posting

Rodbolt,<br /> Thanks for the reply. I'm still confused on the measurement area. I've read a few posts and they say to invert the carb and measure from the bottom of the float to the carb body. Is this when the needle is seated? I can't adjust it any lower without craming the needle into the seat. Any help would be appreciated.
