correct key switch for 73 50 hp evinrude

i am trying to find out what type of key switch i need for a 1973 50 hp 2 cyl evinrude.<br /><br />how many posts do i need

any switch will work. you need at least three:<br /><br />one for the "ignition on"<br />one to "start" the motor<br />one to "kill" the ignition circuit<br /><br />i have a suzuki switch on my 91 johnson.<br /><br />heck, take emall off and make it a button start

yeah, pretty much any ignition switch that has the off, ignition, start positions. A generic aftermarket marine ignition switch will be all brass and handle the environment better. Not sure how the choke was handled in 73 - electric or manual, but if it is electric, then this switch will fit the bill:<br /><br />
