To be a little more precise, this is a 1993 Yamaha T9.9MXHR. The exact location that has no way of draining is on the rear of the upper casing behind the pee hole. It has a rubber gasket surrounding the top called the "cover, upper casing" (#15, 6G8-45151-00-00) gasket shown in the upper casing view on (
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outboard/parts/home.aspx). I don't really understand why this little enclosed area even exists. Why couldn't it have two little holes in the bottom of each side where the salt holds up so the water could drain out either into the upper casing or outside (it already sits next to the pee hole). Does anybody know why this little compartment even exists besides to create salt decay?
