25hp Yamaha cost

Is $2,500 (boat show price)a fair price to pay for a 25hp Yamaha, short shaft, rope start engine? <br /><br />Also, what is the difference (if any), between a 2003 and 2004 model of the above mentioned engine?<br />I was told by the dealer, that the only difference is that the 2003 model comes with a gas tank & the 2004 does not. Is this true?

$2,500 looks like a great price for a 25 HP 4-stroke, even a 2003.<br /><br />Remember, if you want a Yammy fuel tank, the hose and tank will set you back over $100. that is, if it does not come with one.<br /><br />They were pricing the 2003 15 HP 4-strokes for $2,500 here on the east coast, at the boat shows.

I just picked up a 2003 4-stroke 25hp long shaft w/elec start at our local boat show for $2562.00 (with tank). I was actually looking for a 15hp motor but the 25 was about $150.00 less than I could do on a 4-stroke 15hp. Looks like a good price to me as well.
