hello<br /> test for 12 volts between the black and yellow wires at the tach with the key on. then with the engine running check for a changing voltage between the black and the green wire at the tach. most common reasons for tach failure is loss of 12v or loss of tach signal or bad tach. the tach signal is taken from the charging system and a failure of a component there can also affect the tach.<br /> good luck and keep posting
