Rodbolt, where is the pump driveshaft in the oil pump on the 98 yamaha 90 hp. I see there is a driveshaft in the engine that is turned by the crank and a round wheel with gears in the oil pump. Which one do I remove so I can premix? There is also a tiny piece in the center of that round gear with teeth that is turned by the piece in the block connected to the crank.

hello
remove the 2 bolts holding the pump on. remove the pump and set it aside, then use a pair of needle nose and remove the pump driveshaft from the block. this shaft has a steady bearing at the pump end that will come out as well.. then either remount the pump or make a block off plate and gasket. the plate is also avalible at a yammi dealer.
good luck and keep posting

Rodbolt, I tried to remove the driveshaft in the block for the water pump but it will not come out. Since it works of the crank does then engine have to turn so it can be removed? Thanks
