Default Price Premium on Used Boats in Bristol Condition

Sanity check on used boats in excellent condition. If I go to nada.com and run the numbers, I get a used price for average condition. Nada also says boats/motors etc... in above average condition may demand a higher price. What's a good guideline? Is 150% of the average price too high. I prefer not to give specifics as this is an active negotiation.

If the boat is older and in pristine original condition then you can pretty much disregard NADA altogether. Location makes a huge price difference too. Year round boating and salt water cuts prices sharply. Upper Midwest used boats seem to bring the highest prices.

I got my current boat in Indiana. It was a 93 hour loaded cream puff but I still paid well under (like 7 grand) NADA average retail for it with very little negotiation.

Location location location. Some parts of the country you pay a premium on boats, and more on certain types of boats. In some parts of the country, boats are priced way under the NADA value. There, now my answer is just as vague as the details about your boat.

NADA is not known for having prices that reflect the going market in a given location at a given time of year between buyers & sellers.

SoLittle is correct. Watch eBay for a while to see what boats, motors, etc. are selling for. That tells you what people are actually paying. NADA used to draw numbers out of a hat. In the last couple years they have computerized their methods and now use a random-number generator from an old Bally "Wild Cherry" machine.

Specifics are exactly what is needed to answer your question. Some boats/motors command a premium and some are valued so far under book value its not funny. So No Specifics=No Answer
