Hi, I hope you guys can help me. How hard is it to convert a 1998 3cyl 40 hp yamaha to 50 hp. All the specs seem to be the same for each motor. If this is possible? Is the change worth the 10 extra hp? Thanks Lee

I read on a different forum , someone that did some research, reading parts listings etc. He found out the differences were in the exhaust tuner , and 3 jets in each carb that were different.

I believe along with the things mentioned above that the carbs are also differant, You can go through the parts list at yamaha-motor.com to find out for certain.

The 10hp is not worth the money your going to spend unless you what to do it for the experience you will gain.
