1985 SUZUKI DT-115 RECTIFIER

the rectifier on my 1985 dt-115 suzuki is bad. is it possible to use a rectifier from another brand of outboard rather than the suzuki part. other brands are as much as $50.00 less to purchase. has anyone ever done this type of parts swap?<br />any help is appreciated.

a rectifier is a rectifier they all do the same <br />thing, they convert ac to dc <br />by using 4 diodes that work like a check valve<br />by moving the negative halve of the sinewave<br />to the positive halve <br />the only thing to worry about is the power rating<br />you must use one rated at same or greater than<br />factory part<br />you should be able to find one at radio shack
