This motor sat in the yard for a year because of problems with the oil pump running constantly and ovrfilling the tank on the phead. Someone told my stepson the sensor in the integral tank was bad, replaced it. No fix. It sat for a year and I decided to try my luck. Ran across this forum, and with the info from other posters and the bassandwalleye article, was able to determine that the oil controller mod was bad. Also found that the sensor sleeve that contains the float was not perfectly round. (defect?). The float would stick before hitting the cutoff switch at top, therefore run constantly. Problems are gone, and just wanted to say thanks for the help!
