I have a 1982 Suzuki DT 65, which the lower drive shaft bearing seized on. All stripped down, new bearing etc etc. Tried to put it back together to find that the end of the drive shaft extends so far into the gear box that it interferes with the clutch dog. Will the drive shaft retract via the pre-tension spring when I tighten the lower unit bolts? PLEASE HELP! I don't want to risk further damage by doing everything up before I know the answer
