Can anyone help. I have a small 2 stoke 2.2 yamaha engine which has developed an idle problem. When i slow the engine to minimum revs to put the engine into gear, it then just shuts down. After playing with the choke and leaving the choke out I can then slow the engine down to the correct idle speed to put the engine into gear. I have cleaned and cleaned taking everything apart. Has anyone any ideas how i can get my engine to idle correctly without the choke.Thanks

It would appear to be a fuel restriction, most likely in the carb. The very small passages make them require the full shot in cleaning. Complete disassembly, soaking in cleaner and careful attention to blowing out every passage is nacessary to properly clean them.
