Default cleaning carbon from yamaha 115

I was at a local boat shop today geting new plugs for my 115 yamaha 2 stroke. the service person noticed the build up on my old plug and informed me that i need to do a "shock treatment" with a product i believed was named ring free...( may be wrong with name)....i was told that i need to treat every tank of gas with one can of this carbon cleaner. has anyone heard of doing this? is there a cheaper way to keep carbon build up to a minimum? @ $11.00 a can, that sounds like it would be expensive....gas is already expensive enough.i am not having any problems with the motor, but i do want to keep it in the best running shape i can. i plan on keeing the boat for another 10,20 maybe 30 years.....yes, i'm very satisfied with my boat!!!1999 Yamaha c115 2 stroke

Hi k5ranger,Do a search at this forum using word "Seafoam"!!! (without the explanation marks) I think you will see an inexpensive answer to decarbonizing!!! You can get Seafoam at your local NAPA auto store! I hope this helps!!Ed G.
