Hi my neighbor has 86 150 yama. He was overheating a little and pulled the lowerunit. The cover over the waterpump was bent. Notices scoring on the long shaft that goes up into the motor. There are small grooves in it and in the brass bushing that is up in the middle unit of the outdrive. Is that bushing or bearing serviceable. Thanks
Tim

Yes the bushing is replaceable. You will need to remove it, clean out the corrosion and install a new one. If the water pump housing is damaged, it will also need replacing.

How does one go about getting that bushing out. Can I access it by pulling the cover off the side of the middle unit? There seems to be a rubber grommet glued to it to. Does that come with the new part
Thanks in advance
Tim
25 wellcraft t/ 150 yammys
