Could someone tell me if the battery cables should be included in the wiriing harness from the control to the engine? Or, are they seperate wires?

The battery cables are seperate from the single multi conductor control cable but should be included in the motor crate if this is a new engine. The battery cable may be coiled up inside the engine cowling if this is new.

Actually, I bought the engine used. Sounds like another trip to the parts store. Thanks

Make sure that you get very flexible cables (not automotive style battery cables) since they bend every time you turn the engine and stiff cables could add to steering effort. You may be able to find cables on e-bay or an on-line marine store or order directly from Yamaha. Best of Luck.
