Yamaha 1997 200 SWS Fuel Flow NavMan 4380

Has anyone hooked up the fuel flow sending unit to the fuel line and plugged into fuel management mode on the NavMan 4380 fish finder?

Does it work? Is it worth it?

NavMan has hours and fuel management software built in.

I've got the fuel management kit plugged into my Navman 5500. It works a treat. Best $A150 I've spent. Great software as it's easy to use and tells you everything you need to know. Readings are very accurate as the 5500 is a chartplotter. I have not had to calibrate the unit.

I now see that the new Mercs have a complete engine monitor system compatable with the NavMan.

Will the new Yamahas be compatable in the future?

Kavika, I doubt that the engine managament system monitor will become available for Yamaha as Navman is owned by brunswick, Brunswick also owns Mercury. However I am sure that Yamaha are already developing their own system.
