Hey,
I was test driving a used 1993 Stratos with a 1993 Johnson 90 hp on it and noticed the speedometer sticks at 20mph. Is this something I can fix or have fixed inexpensively?
Thanks!

Normally the speedometer works on pressure. That small plastic thingy at the bottom of the stern is called a Pitot. It is connected to the speedometer with a length of black plastic tubing. The pitot may be getting hung up and is not swinging properly or it was installed wrong. The tubing may be clogged or leaking...lots of variables. Most marine supply houses can sell you replacement Pitot assemblies and tubing. The marine speedometers are "so-so" for telling true speed. A GPS is the best.

If the speedometer itself is toast? then try e-bay for a used working one.

Bob
