Switching props?

Could I switch props on a 2000 Mercruiser 3.0 I/O and a 1985 Mariner Magnum 150? The pitch is the same but the diameter on the Mercruiser is 15 and the diameter one the Mariner is 14 1/4. Thanks alot.

Yes you can. However...watch the tach on the mercruiser I/O. I used a 150 Mag Mariner on a Ranger boat with a 24 pitch prop. I know the mariner will handle the prop but watch you don't over-rev (high rpm's) with the I/O. The mariner and alpha outdrives have the same shaft.<br /><br />Bob
