I have a 2HP (DT2) 1985 Suzuki. It tends to run very hot some times. I have pulled the head & cleaned cooling journals, replaced water pump and blew compressed air through ever thing. I don't think it has a thermostat, any othe ideas? Is the oil to be mixewd 50:1 like other out boards?

if your motor is defiantely a 1985 model then from this site: http://archive.bibalex.org/web/20010801165541/goa-northcoastoil.com/tips/obmixing.html

it shows your 1985 DT2 as requiring 50:1.

I use a brand called ROCK OIL, its not actual 2 stroke oil but Ive used it in my 2 stroke hovercraft for the last 9 years and over 1400 hours of opperation without ONE engine rebuild yet and its still going strong! This is a reallly heavy duty usage engine!

Hope this helps!
