when shifting to forward and reverse sometimes it wount go in all the way and pops out .this is a strong motor and good lower unit.can you adjust the rod thst goes thrue the lower unit, like a omc. screw in and out. if you operate the lower manualy it works fine [/LIST]

sounds like problem is in linkage from controls to shift rod.Either adj. out, or cable loose at cotrols Possibly faulty cable.

You may have a stretched cable or out of adjustment put the shifter in nuetral and check the cable on the engine there should be a mark on the housing the engine where it hooks up take the cotter pin out move the shift pin to that mark and adjust the cable end to it put the pin back in and try that
