I was fishing the other day,and met a guy at the launch with a 1995 50hp Yamaha,I own a 1995 40hp Yamaha ,we were comparing motors and the two look like one in the same ,when I got home I pulled out the owners manual that list them both ,they have just about everything in common ,so my question is what makes one a 50 and one a 40 ? different carbs? By the way this is the most trouble free motor that I have ever owned, and it will be on my boat for a long time<br /> Thanks for your answers--1Longbow :D

Re: Yamaha Question

Very different. Combustion chamber, porting, carbs, driveshaft....
